We have an airshow annually here in toronto. About 10 years ago there was a special aniversary, maybe the 60th of the end of the 2nd WW. Anyways, the kicker was a P-51 very much the colour of this one but with D-Day stripes and an F-15 flew wingtip to wingtip around for about 10 mins. I'm thinking that the 15 was flying as slow as he could without stalling, and the 'stang was flying as fast as he could. Neat to watch and still wish I'd had my camera.

I saw the first sabre in australia fly next to one of the FA/18 and it was exactly as you describe!
