A few aerials whilst cruising around on a scenic flight in my favourite aircraft of all time (and the one I learnt to fly in), the mighty Cessna 172.
Amazing country, almost savannah like with crazy cliffs and tabletops.

I would have found a nicer foreground, but it seems everything in this state (NT) is out to either kill you or make your life very uncomfortable.

We may not be alone in this universe, but sure as sh$t i was not alone standing here in the pitch dark. Whether it be the local buffalo or the bird size mozzies there were more pressing issues than contemplating the serenity of our local galaxy.

At least there was no traffic 🙂

Whilst on the outside the nacelles (engine poddy things where the landing gear also comes out of) on these aircraft look deceptively simple, like a boxy volvo style design 🙂

however, it hides an impressive package, in there is all your engine thingys, which by the way is all the wrong way round cause there is a big fan up the front, thing of it like your dunny ‘S-bend’ ducting and airflow going all directions (turbine with propeller)… and amongst all that you got these long dangley legs folded up in there …

Be sure to appreciate the quality design of the Viking Air limited – well actually its Dehavilland, rebranded as Bombardier and bought by some big company called Longview… 😉 gotta love how companies get swallowed up.

I think Airshows should employ me to give them some advice on crowd viewing spots… i must have walked up and down this feaking runway at Avalon half a dozen times to try and get some nice light. I’m pretty sure the gold class stands would have been pretty good, however after being fleeced by Jetstar with absolutely stupid airfares there was no way i was paying the 200+ bucks to sit in a stand.

Really they need a viewing place on the other side of the runway, if that ain’t possible, just swap the airshow to the other side of the runway 🙂 your gonna get much nice light for the majority of the afternoon 🙂

There was some really nice patches of light and cloud depending on what part of the sky the aircraft were at, I really like this one, you could be forgiven thinking that its flogging along at 20,000 ft, but really its probably less than a 1000ft off the deck, great looking aircraft too, even if they are old 🙂

Here is a Airbus A330 piloted by women… being chased or maybe escorted (depending on your perspective) by some hoon Fa/18’s piloted by women as well… and there is also some ground crew who are also women.

Not everyday you see a airliner being escorted by some military aircraft, hopefully I never see that in anger and only at scareshows 🙂

pretty much imagine each cloud is a single thought, thats whats going on in this child’s brain every minute…. admittingly, 99% of them are tiktok related thoughts 😉 imagine harnessing that brain power for good 😉
