I have come to judge people on the way the argue
After quite some time I have come to realise that often,
its not what perspective or opinion which is considered 'right' or 'wrong' or even which one you actually end up agreeing with or/and connecting with, but more the way the argument is put forth by each person. This is what determines respect and worth of a person, particularly so in the social media scene where you may never physically meet the person.
Its when you can see the reasons and justifications of the other side and it is put forward in a way that encourages open minded debate with respect have you reached a acceptable level of civility.
Civility and restraint have seem to have been lost somewhere along the way and there are too many people acting like boneheads and they seem to be attracted to photography communities 😉

Portal to the sea of sh$t
Contemplating the Diamond Bay Raw Sewerage outflow.
Sitting here on the edge of the cliffs of Diamond bay one could not help but notice the rather over bearing stench of shit coming from the churning waters below.
So, lets sum this up.. apparently its been proposed a few times to build a tunnel to link this raw sewerage outflow into the nearby ones including the Bondi deep sea outfall, why the feck would a bunch of rich people in mansions put the hell up with an ass bent smell wafting thru their windows on a sunday night ? Sheesh… Rod and I were here only for a few hours and it had me longing for my inner west shoebox..
So why not fix it ? too expensive ? god knows.. but there is/was an action group called CROSRS (Concerned Residents Opposed to Sewers on Residential Streets)… like wtf .. apparently it would be traffic chaos if they dug the streets up to put this poo tube in! lol.. can anyone say westconnex 🙂
Anyways enough rantage for a tuesday night – its been several years since I been to this spot including the actual 'Diamond Bay', not much has changed beside things getting a bit greener 🙂 This little arch way which i had buried in the back of mind turned out to be a pretty cool little subject for some star trails and light painting shenanigans – Rodney Campbell did a great job standing still for an hour and a half 🙂 Its also the start of a pathway down to some mad fishing spots, if you enjoy heights and tiny rock ledges that is…

One can never have too many images of rocks in water with a nice sunrise – as the sunset somewhere, remember the sunrises somewhere else

Sunrise
I miss these sessions, watching the warm sunrise approach with my toes in the water and the waves washing the sand over them.. and of course the occasion rogue wave which meant i had to lift the tripod and camera up 😉
Spring
Just some little guy chasing some aphids in our community garden plot..

Library
These places have changed alot since i was a kid, i remember the days of the old catalogues and trying to find books, but mostly remember just picking out books based on their cover and titles 🙂 from Tintin to the Hardy boys, i read alot of books (i mean alot! probably scarred me for life since i very rarely read books now lol ) and its probably the only reason why i did ok at english, although it was mostly a waste since now i'm an engineer and speak in as little words as possible and draw pictures 🙂 .. my competent grasp of the english language could now be argued 😉
For the record, she (tickles aka mayhem) had run off (yup shes a runner 🙁 ) found a bunch of books and some somewhat comfy chairs (not in the kids area).. fyi Canada Bay Library, i love that you have a awesome kids section but damn, put some seats there so that any adult larger than a hobbit can actually use them for more than 3 seconds. 😉
I feel pretty old when i have absolutely no idea how this new fangled system of borrowing works, seems to have just reduced the number of librarians.. are there still such people?

Zoom in for all that cool high res detail.
Gambling
Just so ya'all know, I worked out the stock market, you know that magic formula that determines what stuffs gonna do etc, forget that 😉 i have it sussed. Come and see me when you want do some short trading or whatever the hell that is and I'll guarantee some good times. 🙂
Ya see, the moment I go and buy some stocks, it's guaranteed to drop, you know like, instantly, like the day I buy it where its all heading up, the ass starts to fall immediately 😉
So here's a picture, the hills are like stock performance up and down in a cloud of mystery, akin to gambling i say 😉
I really love this shot, but laziness kinda ruined it, its a large pano image but rather than fix the focus at one point for all the shots (really should when using a long focal length) I let the camera pick off the focus which meant for some shots it focused on the hills and some for the foreground and tree, the real kicker is that it sticks out like a big ass stock drop near the tree where one side is focused on the tree and the other somewhere out yonder..Well i still like it, those hills shrouded in the rolling rain reminded me of somewhere in the Hobbit and NZ, not somewhere outside Canberra 🙂
So, zoom and you can see the failures 🙂
This is the third shot of have of this tree on three separate trips – i'll get one when there is no snow one day, that will make a cool comparison
