Some little dinky waterfall in the blue mountains, somewhere along the Grand Canyon.

Cyptotrama asprata (inedible)
I love looking for fungi and taking pictures of them, unlike snakes, at least these killers can’t move ๐
A key message from fungimap, which sums it up..
“Fungimap does not encourage eating wild Australian mushrooms because so little is known about their edibility and many poisonous species are virtually indistinguishable from safe varieties.” Pano shots, 3 stitched shots for each one.

Creek Fungi.
I found this pretty cool fungi cluster on a log in the creek, it was next to a few nice small cascades which could not be left un-photographed (yep thats a word now.)
Both shots are stitched panos using the 24-70mm lens. The waterfall one I was trying to get a bit more compression on the scene so the log did not look so small.. kinda worked. The norizontal one.. well, that was purely dictated by where I could put my hoofs and keep them dry. Coachwood Glen, Blackheath
(on a funny side note, imagine having your last name the same as the town you live in… ๐ what a cool way to spin people out when you meet them ๐ )

Bridal Veil Falls, Govetts Leap
Bit of a tricky spot to shoot given you don’t wanna be too close to the edge and the 180 metre drop, that said the platform seems like it was supplied by nature as a natural viewing spot for this waterfall.
6 shots stitched into a pano to get a nice wide field of view.

Where do naughty rays of light go?
…. Prism
your only as good as your next pun.. and sheesh i’m just warming up 2024.
(its ok to take a philosophical stand and unfriend me now because of my poor jokes ๐ i won’t judge you… much ) This was at a cool little place called New Zealand Beach which is predominanty accessed only at lowish tides, dunno why its called this, it ain’t in New Zealand.. does not look like New Zealand…got nothing to do with it that I can see. This particular evening it was looking pretty interesting with sun rays from the sunset behind me and storm clouds everywhere and a rainbow popping in the join the fun.

The blurred lines of life (in pastel).
A bit like world politics, lines are very hazy but with no nice colour.
I think i could use a few of these to reduce the lines of age too ๐
4 min exposure out on a beach on the walk home, no one else about, the beauty of some our great beaches is that you can hove one all to your self sometimes ๐

Searching for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Rainbows are great, but mostly accompanied by rain and in this case driving straight towards me.. i only had to clone out 15 thousand damn rain drops from this picture. Woulda have been happy with a microfibre cloth in place of that darn pot of gold ๐

Sydney NYE – Fireworks 2023 – 9pm
The 9pm session, down with the crowds, luckily for me i have a slight height advantage so I don’t have to get there too early.
I actually love the 3rd shot in this lot, those fireworks they used there are very neat and so colourful, like flowing hair..

Sydney NYE – Fireworks 2023 – 9pm
Sydney NYE – Fireworks 2023 – 12pm
Well, there is nothing like capping off another year with the watching of some silly amounts of fireworks in a suburb of Sydney where I’m sure the locals hate having to share their multi-million dollar views with us plebs… actually the average price is 10’s of millions… anyways.. still has sh$t traffic and public transport that only zombies can handle ๐
Here is my selection of shots from the 12pm session. Apparently curated by a First Nations person – i think thats called… whitewashing the issue, bit like the way corporations ‘greenwash’ .
Here’s to thinking critically in 2024 and always asking.. ‘why’ (and not answering that with a stupid 1 liner)
