Hyperfocal

Hyperfocal

Missed it by that much – only barely noticeable but the city line is just a touch out of focus, the key here would have been to focus on a point in the ocean and make sure the whole scene was sharper, rather than on the rock pier.

and no I did not come here to shoot the reflection, i came to this little pier ’cause no one else was there πŸ™‚ then all the people turned up and wanted to shoot from here πŸ™‚

Mount Solitary Camp.

Mount Solitary Camp.

It was a pretty nice sunset, I could not find a clear spot between the trees to get a sunset shot and my legs saying ‘hell no’ to walking any further, especially anything that involved steps. Hence, the obligatory tent shot with some sunset included was gonna have to do.

This is on the western side of Mount Solitary, basically the very tip, the left side is off towards Wentworth falls and to the right down into the valleys and eventually the headwaters of Warragamba Dam. Its pretty cool camp spot.

Trying out the new Durston X-Dome tent which did pretty good, kept me dry in the storm and kept the bugs out πŸ™‚

Its a 8 frame panorama with each shot bracketed, the light dynamic range is pretty large here with the campsite in fairly deep shadow and the bright sunset outside the circle of trees.

Sydney Fireworks NYE 2026

My inspiration comes and goesҀ¦ mostly comes when I inhale

onto the pictures I suppose.

Several from both the 9pm and 12 midnight Fireworks – taken from over in Vaucluse with the other 15 billion people who drove over there – as PSA never trust google to find you a route anywhere on NYE, it literally had people driving in circles πŸ™‚

Chaos Theory.

Chaos Theory.

Reminds me a little of the Eye of Sauron.

In some bunker out on Bluefish Point nearly Manly. Rodney Campbell reckoned there was gonna be some mad Geminids asteroids to be seen this night, however the wind storm that came thru just after dark kinda killed that idea and we spent the majority of the evening holed up in a bunker trying to salvage something resembling a photo..
