Curracurrang Gully

Aurora Kurnellis.
Making this shot was a bit like stuffing your sleeping bag into its sack after its been sitting out for 6 months… just seems like it won’t all fit and they are bits hanging out everywhere, then you start beating it with you fist to get it in 🙂 then give up and just jam it in the bottom of your pack 🙂
I did manage to get most of this in, its shot at 14mm and encompasses more than 180 degree field of view..
The warm glow on the horizon is Wollongong City, then to the right of that I guess Sutherland and Cronulla, the light on the left is light spilling over from the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
In terms of the Aurora Australis, lets be honest, really there not much to really see, nothing more than a faint glow on the horizon, however I guess its a bit special since it is being seen from Sydney..
One day I will see it in Tassie 🙂
10 shots @14mm portrait orientation, ISO 2500, f2.8, 15 secs

Lakemba Nights – Ramadan
I have lived in Sydney for awhile now and never been to these night markets, however after spending a bunch of time on the SW2 bus to Bankstown Beach due to the train line closure and seeing these markets (they go for a month) I figured I should check them out.
I reckon next year its gonna be more awesome, once they finish the metro train line extension it will be a short train ride and you will not have to battle the traffic, which btw was horrendous, but not unexpected given there is no train and its all road based stuff…
There is so much food there and some big stalls with some serious lineups, however I opted for a lesser busy one and got a very nice mixed kebab which was really great, theres a picture in here some where of it, bright green, orange and yellow..
I also got one of the Kashmir chai’s which was quite nice but very creamy and sweet.
If your thinking of going, its the last night on Sunday I think…
the kids obviously went for anything that was sweet, of which there was a lot 🙂
