Easter Bunny

Chocolate easter egg hunt ..

soooo…. life is all about motivation, given a little bit of motivation in the form of legal product called sugar and coca (should be outlawed i reckon ) and it’s amazing 1) how fast these things can be found and 2) how thorough the task of finding them can be carried out..

you might see where i’m going here.. the same motivation does not extend to say… the lost toothbrush which is hiding in plain sight even tho said child (s) left it there less than 12 hours ago or the jumper that can’t be found but is lying on the bedroom floor ? or one of the 13 million hair brushes covering nearly every corner of the house…

maybe the answer is attach chocolate eggs to all the mundane items that need to be sourced during the normal course of preparing oneself for the day ahead…

anyways, a good egg hunt (or two) was had by all….

Steaming Fungi.

Ghost fungi, Omphalotus nidiformis

I tried a different technique on these ones, luckily it was pretty late hence I only got a few peeps freaking out about some dude hiding in the bushes…

I used a black sheet to drape across a couple of tripods, a stinky bin and some spikey plants all in the name of blocking out the street lights and the moon. For these I actually used a torch to light paint the scene and then blend this into the frame with the glowing fungi.

I did notice something very cool about these ones – other than the fact you can see the glow under the sheet – that is, they emit steam. It’s either that or the local slugs have taken up a filthy smoking habit.

Truth Telling.

What do you call a giant mushroom?
Hufungus.

Now lets be clear, these infamous glow in the dark fungi, ghost fungi, Omphalotus nidiformis or what name you choose, do not really glow in the dark. They are bioluminescent, but really your gonna have more chance of falling off the cliff in the dark whilst trying to spot one of these glowing in the dark on your midnight stroll..

To make things worse, you can’t even eat them, apparently they are toxic and will have you in a power vomit before you know it… so offer them to your enemy first…

Rodney Campbell found this monster one in Lane cove, its gotta be the size of a dinner plate!

To see the green glow which they emit, you… More

Rock pool.

Some nice rockpools at Little Bay from all the rain.

We were reflecting on those who have recently lost their lives here – the guy with his 8 year old son swept off the rocks and the swimmer attacked by the shark. Don’t take life for granted, you never know when your number is up.

16 billion dollars worth of tunnel here…

kinda funny how they seemed to get the tunnel finished and get the cars thru but the promised parkland and open space seems to be delayed… prolly cause parklands don‘t generate revenue, cars do, I guess we don’t want another motorway operator to fold.

Rest assured folks, i’ve got it covered, just checked, my tolls have pretty well tripled since they brought the tunnel in, but its OK, the NSW government gave me free rego
