There's only one way out of here, said someone to the not so little rock

The really cool thing about the internet is the way that information is at your fingertips, moreso the ability to find an answer based on only part of the puzzle. I think that probably makes us dumber in a way, yet smarter in another, not real sure on whether thats a good thing yet, history will tell.

I was watching the movie "The Thin Redline" the other night, apparently we (my work) had a bit to do with the Wirraway (thats a plane btw) in it, so when it came on TV (yup i'm old school still only watch whats on free to air 🙂 ) i thought i would watch it – not too bad of film i suppose, but what tickled my interest was some audio samples, which i later went back to soundtrack to find, only to note they were not there, segway into the handiness of the internet, yep, the particular audio samples were from a fav artist of mine, Unkle. As such, i'll leave ya'all with quality quote from their work – i suggest a good session listening to Unkle is in order, particularly never never land, great stuff.

Does it help the grass to grow? The sun to shine?, Is this darkness in you too? Have you passed through this night?, This great evil. Where's it come from?

Onto the image, i love these kind of pictures, ones which look out of this world and even completely fabricated, yet not – this particular image is 3 images stitched together to make the pano format, each one taken with the waves in similar spots to make sure it does not look disjointed, with a shutter speed of 3 seconds its pretty forgiving to get things to align, the lone rock at low tide provided the anchor for all 3 images.
The morning sea fog which was crazy thick just topped it off. No elements added, removed or significantly altered, makes for a real easy image to process.

Assume

I ride the train a couple of times a week to work, to be honest its just about faster that driving to/on the M5, one cool thing I like about the train is you start to see the regulars who are there every week. Now i am anything but sociable, but i have got talking to two dudes who get on at Campsie who ride into the city (once a week on the same day) to help out at one of the homeless kitchens, looking at these two guys you would not pick this, upon first impressions and going off looks one would probably assume they have quite a colourful past (and probably well do by all accounts). But after getting to know them (over several months and seeing them every now and then) I have come to realise they probably offer more to society than most and have kinder hearts than most…

It's an appropriate reminder not to judge people on what they look like and probably even more importantly not to judge people on their past…

thats enough rambling for one wednesday night 🙂 heres a picture which has nothing

I have come to judge people on the way the argue

After quite some time I have come to realise that often,
its not what perspective or opinion which is considered 'right' or 'wrong' or even which one you actually end up agreeing with or/and connecting with, but more the way the argument is put forth by each person. This is what determines respect and worth of a person, particularly so in the social media scene where you may never physically meet the person.
Its when you can see the reasons and justifications of the other side and it is put forward in a way that encourages open minded debate with respect have you reached a acceptable level of civility.

Civility and restraint have seem to have been lost somewhere along the way and there are too many people acting like boneheads and they seem to be attracted to photography communities 😉

Portal to the sea of sh$t

Contemplating the Diamond Bay Raw Sewerage outflow.

Sitting here on the edge of the cliffs of Diamond bay one could not help but notice the rather over bearing stench of shit coming from the churning waters below.

So, lets sum this up.. apparently its been proposed a few times to build a tunnel to link this raw sewerage outflow into the nearby ones including the Bondi deep sea outfall, why the feck would a bunch of rich people in mansions put the hell up with an ass bent smell wafting thru their windows on a sunday night ? Sheesh… Rod and I were here only for a few hours and it had me longing for my inner west shoebox..

So why not fix it ? too expensive ? god knows.. but there is/was an action group called CROSRS (Concerned Residents Opposed to Sewers on Residential Streets)… like wtf .. apparently it would be traffic chaos if they dug the streets up to put this poo tube in! lol.. can anyone say westconnex 🙂

Anyways enough rantage for a tuesday night – its been several years since I been to this spot including the actual 'Diamond Bay', not much has changed beside things getting a bit greener 🙂 This little arch way which i had buried in the back of mind turned out to be a pretty cool little subject for some star trails and light painting shenanigans – Rodney Campbell did a great job standing still for an hour and a half 🙂 Its also the start of a pathway down to some mad fishing spots, if you enjoy heights and tiny rock ledges that is…
