Wombastic
Nestled into a little corner on the South Coast is a sleepy little suburb called Wombarra which has a sneaky little secret – this delightful little rock shelf. Although, it is like walking on a ice rink 😉 Its also delightfully green, my favorite seascape colour 🙂
Nikon D7000, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Single frame, Aperture: f/9.5 Shutter Speed: 3s. Composed and shot purely for the tentacles of water receding back into the ocean.
A great location for a soul restoring interaction with nature coupled with a smattering of photography 🙂
Thankyou to you all who comment and plus my posts, I do appreciate it and try and at respond to everyone 🙂 Rest assured I am always checking out my commenters streams (when i probably should be doing something else 🙂 )
As always, I welcome any suggestions, comments and improvements to my photography, they are always warmly welcomed!

The Neptune Necklace Slide
Subtle, saturated colours, great water flow and wet feet, all make for a fun sunrise session.
Manually blended a couple of shots to achieve that extra bit of light on the rocks and also compensate for the bright sky.
D7000 with 11-16mm f2.8 lens @ Aperture f/19
Shutter Speed: 6s
Circular Polariser and Lee 0.9 Graduated ND filter.

Sky Nodules
It was like the sky from Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne – the scene was encased in this envelope of cloud that reminded me of the sound proofing foam you get with the nodules looking like they would drip away in any second.
D7000 and Tokina 11-16mm (11mm) @ f16 ans 3 seconds with Lee Graduated filter (with sea spray included for free) and circular polariser.
The warm tones on the clouds were very subtle, it was a warm glow rather than a red burn and thus have tried to preserve the subtley and texture in the processing. A single frame taken to accentuate the water flow and capture one of the many sweet looking rocks at low tide whilst on the backdop of a nodular (ohh yeah.. bet ya never used that word before:) ) sky
I appreciate the comments that people leave and I welcome any suggestions, comments and improvements to my photography, they are always warmly welcomed!

The Opaque World
Its like a mesmerizing blurry mirror that you can't tear your eyes away from, each second the shape, colour and contrast change as the light refracts through the ebbing water.
The light was fading very fast and the colour disappearing just as quick, i could see the campfire ablaze in the distance and a clinking of beer bottles was calling. Rather than wait the 2 minutes at f/16 for the bright exposure i took 3 frames at different apertures all at 30 seconds as a means to expedite my parched throat to the waiting beer. Said goodbye to the shy crabs and took another single frame before trekking back to the pinpoint of light that was our campsite.
Similarly to the last image, I processed it in Nik HDR efex pro2 using pretty much the same custom preset, now dubbed 'gerry's dark one' then finished off in my usual process.
I love reading the comments that people leave and I welcome any suggestions, comments and improvements to my photography, they are always warmly welcomed!

Oil Tanker Island
I love seascapes and I think the main reason is the unpredictability of what you are going to come home with. I sometimes get the opportunity to revisit a location and I always try and plan at least a couple of shots in my head, however more often than not i come away with totally different shots due to a lot of different factors.
On this day, i planned to be on that island out there..yeah..that long thin one you can see in the distance…so how did I end up over here taking this shot? I had a few sweet ideas in my head for long exposures off that really sweet rocky oil tanker shaped rock island but nature did not come to the party, sunset was at around 8 ish and low tide was at 5 pm, this little island is only accessible during low tide for a couple of hours, now i am always pretty keen but wading waist deep on a sand bar well past dusk did not sound like a good idea, plus i needed to be back at the campsite for a beer (i rarely get to have a few beers nowadays so thats a major driving factor 😉 )
Anyway, so i was stuck landside and this is one of the shots that eventuated, not quite the one I had in mind 🙂
Aperture: f/16

Golden Flush over Snapper head
Like a river streaming from the bleeding sun, welcome to the morning…and the heat, it was about 8 am and it was already close to 25 degrees and the humidity, well, lets say going surfing only got you marginally wetter 🙂
LEE bigstopper and Lee Grad filter.

River of Snakes
Welcome to 2014 – sometimes the last shot of the day is the best, i trawled up and down this stretch of rocky outcrop looking for a nice channel just like this, however it was not until i was heading out of there that I came across this gorge and a very cool cave, but thats for a revisit.

Welcome to the Morning – The outflow
After ditching (sorry guys) +Suren J and +Rodney Campbell for my morning exercise (sand run follwed by rock run 😉 ) I finally came upon some very nice rock shelves which did lend them to be positioned with the moments of brilliant colour on the dark and threatening clouds.
