Sometimes.. and only sometimes do things in life (with kids) line up nicely, this was one such time and it has nothing to do with the people in the image 🙂
I noted earlier on in the arvo, whilst chained to my domestic duties, that the clouds were pretty cool, as luck would have it, Chaos and tickles were both pretty zonked from a big day at the zoo yesterday so it was off to bed during the daylight hours for them 🙂 and at 6:30pm.. yes you read that right! i was cruising to the park with both girls in bed asleep (some credit to the better half there too i suppose ; ) ) which meant I got there just in time for some very cool clouds and sunset 🙂

The basic concept of a triptych is to link or tell a story with the images, for me, i started with triptychs mainly since I could never decide on what image I liked out of a series, this has morphed into triptychs that mostly follow the landscape or, more likely a series of images of the kids which lays out what happened 🙂
Sometimes, and only sometimes, do a get a few images that are related and when combined create a story or a link.
I reckon this is one such example, now whilst the viewer may not know the 3 images are all from the same location but basically lookign in different directions, this fact is not really important to anyone else but me. In this image the flow of the land lines up between the images to form a landscape, the seat and the building create points of interest and raise question marks for the viewer, the middle image throws in the human context and links the two.
Taken at Sydney Park, one of the City of Sydney Councils success stories, lets hope the west connex interchange that they are putting next door does not stuff it up 🙂

not that I am a pessimist or anything 😉
you could roll out a hundred different cliches together with the image, however, this time, i think the following is appropriate..

but are with the only one

congratulations peeps, whoever ya are 🙂 partially taken at my favorite park in Sydney
+Kitten KaboodleInc , wait until you see the tiny planet 🙂
We have had some pretty bizarre storms in Sydney in the last week, from gale force winds and wet season style rainfall to hail, we have had it all.
Yesterday, about 30 minutes after this image was taken myself and the girls drove home through some streets covered in ankle deep hail stones to find our place had been turned into a winter wonderland (without any leaves or foliage left 🙁 ).
No need for that thredbo visit this year 😉 we got our snowman built in the backyard and ice slide (albeit only big enough for a kid) in the front yard.
As we climbed to the top of the hill at the park amongst growing darkness and increasing lightning, Chaos rightly stated that we should not hang around due to the lightning, luckily she mentioned it when she did, since we pulled the pin on our regular park bash and just as we got to the car it started raining.
I processed this image a few times and then realised, it looked best straight out of the camera. Thus the only PP on this image was the stitching of the frames into a panorama. This will make all ya lovers happy 😉
I hope ya'all survived the weather.

time to contemplate your position in the world
i’ll save you some time 🙂 …your one in about 7 billion odd people, be thankful for what you have and not what you don’t 🙂
My favorite park bench – for which one must be patient and wait for a moment of solidarity since its so damn popular with the dog walkers..runners… walkman junkies (yeah thats for you over 30 peeps)…and the rest of the park lovers 😉
This is Sydney Park, my often ‘go to’ location when I have little or no time, its always a wealth of compositions and the rolling hills give me a sense of being somewhere else than in the middle of the inner west of Sydney, which as great as it is…can be a drag some days ..
view this full size, viewing guaranteed 🙂

Some very hot weather resulting in the first few bushfires of the season meant the sky was lookign a bit hazy, I ducked off to the park on the way home just to see what the sunset would do.

and apartment living
One thing I do love about the Inner West of Sydney is the number of parks especially given that we all have to live in shoe boxes, well most of us 😉 Parks do feature pretty heavily for most people in the area, whether your a dog lover and taking your ball chasing guard dog for a run or getting some exercise or getting the kids out for while…
Sydney Park is one of my favorite parks, mainly since its such a great example of what councils/governments can do with a refuse site if they put their mind and money to it, its also pretty photogenic, with lots of nice spots for all kinds of stuff, lightpainting, landscape, airport, city views.. etc..
Its hard to believe that this park only come into existent in 1993, checkout these old photos!

I really like the single lone highrise (well medium rise i suppose) apartment block adjacent to the park, it has featured in my pictures before and in this particular case I did set myself up in waiting for the perfect lot of people to walk on thru the frame!
