The ultimate treasure map, written in silver ink across the night sky.
I’m available for more corny useless captions for boats and stars 😉
This shot is a single frame, 25 seconds at f2.8 and ISO 2500. There is however one trick with this picture, at that high ISO and shutter speed the boat and the lights would normally blow out the scene. Yep you could bracket it with a couple of shots and merge them together, but guaranteed things like the boat wires and mast would not line up (been there done that).
So I manually blacked out the bottom part of the image for about 15 seconds, basically using my holden car manual (which is black) and positioned it on the bottom of the frame and ‘jiggled’ it to avoid a hard line where the manual ended. It took a few frames to get it work well and not have a line or reflections etc. Certainly made for processing the shot much easy.
