I spend alot of time with aircraft, occasionally i will even wander out the back and watch them punch off whilst having my chai, sometimes I even take pictures of them if the conditions are nice.
Occasionally you see some odd things, the odd go round, the awfully low approach (prolly pilots practicing their old landing carrier touch downs 🙂 ) and then you have this… leaving the gear down well after the takeoff and initial climb is done.
I have only seen it twice in several years, the last was a Air India aircraft, this one was a Air Canada one. I do wonder whats going on here, whether its delibrate or they forgot, if so that raises some post takeoff checklist issues 🙂
Its pretty easy to pick since they struggle to get it up and they are still below 2000ft at haberfield which would certainly be giving those residents a buzz 🙂
