how do you mean when you say 'manually blended'?

3 frames of different exposures (shutter speed adjusted) brought into PS via a stack then using masks to manually lighten and darken various parts of the image which are either blown out or fully lost in shadow. In this image a netural frame would have lost the top into complete darkness to maintain the expsure on the water, hence I blended the shadows mostly
