Apartments

these things seem to be springing from thin air lately 😉 with the hot property market in Sydney its very interesting watch private enterprise move so fast – if only our government worked this quickly on even just 10% of their plans :-/

I like this shot, from bunnings right through to the container terminal, its all there with a smattering of cranes to boot..

Big Berther

I feel for all those stuck in Bali as a result of the Volcano ash cloud, especially those poor souls who elected to fly with Jetstar…. and… not have travel insurance,…you will have learnt two very valuable lessons from that trip. 1) do not fly with Jetstar, you will get what you pay for 😉 2) always get travel insurance 🙂

Remember the British Airways flight (9 i think from memory) that flew thru the ash cloud in da middle of the night then everything went awfully quiet, ie all the ponies stopped, yep all four ! they were damn lucky that they could restart one engine and limp to a airfield. Thus, why airlines are sensible about not trying to flight thru these clouds, volcanic ash + plane = scrap aluminum 🙂

I was having a nice stroll in the park when the Singapore Airlines A380 lumbered overhead, a slight mad dash to swap lens and I was in time to get this nice ass view 😉

time to contemplate your position in the world
i’ll save you some time 🙂 …your one in about 7 billion odd people, be thankful for what you have and not what you don’t 🙂

My favorite park bench – for which one must be patient and wait for a moment of solidarity since its so damn popular with the dog walkers..runners… walkman junkies (yeah thats for you over 30 peeps)…and the rest of the park lovers 😉

This is Sydney Park, my often ‘go to’ location when I have little or no time, its always a wealth of compositions and the rolling hills give me a sense of being somewhere else than in the middle of the inner west of Sydney, which as great as it is…can be a drag some days ..

view this full size, viewing guaranteed 🙂

Some very hot weather resulting in the first few bushfires of the season meant the sky was lookign a bit hazy, I ducked off to the park on the way home just to see what the sunset would do.

and apartment living
One thing I do love about the Inner West of Sydney is the number of parks especially given that we all have to live in shoe boxes, well most of us 😉 Parks do feature pretty heavily for most people in the area, whether your a dog lover and taking your ball chasing guard dog for a run or getting some exercise or getting the kids out for while…

Sydney Park is one of my favorite parks, mainly since its such a great example of what councils/governments can do with a refuse site if they put their mind and money to it, its also pretty photogenic, with lots of nice spots for all kinds of stuff, lightpainting, landscape, airport, city views.. etc..

Its hard to believe that this park only come into existent in 1993, checkout these old photos!

I really like the single lone highrise (well medium rise i suppose) apartment block adjacent to the park, it has featured in my pictures before and in this particular case I did set myself up in waiting for the perfect lot of people to walk on thru the frame!

3 shot Panorama
Timed to get the people in the centre frame only 🙂

Park Life

Never did i ever envisage visiting so many parks or for that matter really worrying about how many and how good they are until Chaos turned up. Now i am a regular park goer and even partake in a little of the climbing jungle gyms myself 🙂 Now i really appreciate a half decent park.
