I feel for all those stuck in Bali as a result of the Volcano ash cloud, especially those poor souls who elected to fly with Jetstar…. and… not have travel insurance,…you will have learnt two very valuable lessons from that trip. 1) do not fly with Jetstar, you will get what you pay for π 2) always get travel insurance π
Remember the British Airways flight (9 i think from memory) that flew thru the ash cloud in da middle of the night then everything went awfully quiet, ie all the ponies stopped, yep all four ! they were damn lucky that they could restart one engine and limp to a airfield. Thus, why airlines are sensible about not trying to flight thru these clouds, volcanic ash + plane = scrap aluminum π
I was having a nice stroll in the park when the Singapore Airlines A380 lumbered overhead, a slight mad dash to swap lens and I was in time to get this nice ass view π

Very Beautiful Gerard; ))
muy bello
Great shot! And very true about the bad luck with the volcano!
And that A380 is one giant of a plane. When they fly overhead at 30000' there's no mistaking it!
I am a lover of these flying flying beasts. I even know the sound of it at take off, and there am I, like a kid, staring at it. It's a beauty, even from the rear end :). Nice capture!
Right there with ya +Fernando da Silva! π
i haven't travelled overseas yet,but i do hear that travel insurance is a must, glad you posted this to make people aware. Im gathering the travel insurance covers everything when this situation occurs??

, i believe it would be all in the fine print – but as I understand it most insurance will cover delays for a whole range of things, including natural disasters and they will at least cover your accommodation and meals..
