On another note, this spot is/was made famous recently by some freak waves that wiped a few peopel out and consequently resulted in a couple of helicopter rescues.

Beautiful spot that I used to fish from in my youth.
I wouldn't call it a freak wave. Those rocks are for a reason and yep I'm with you on not getting in to cool off, but stopped at burning palms before heading back up the track to head home
