The Mardi gras plane
You would not think that this aircraft is the better side of 15 years old, its amazing what a coat of new paint, some spanky new logos and a brand name on the bottom can do (yep they ripped that off emirates).
Note the placement of the logo on the engine nacelle inboard and outboard sides, there is clearly alot more thought about pax seeing these when in the aircraft too, oddly tho, the winglet logos are only in the inside…
Hmm… so Emirates fly dodgy old planes?? Wish you'd told me that before I booked with them….

From that angle is reminds me of a rocket with wings. Another example of why Bernoulli's Principle was a world-changing discovery!
more paint more weight, less seat
+Al Chris don't talk to me about planes.. you'll never fly again 😉
+Carolyn Fahm exactly, its incredible how many mathematicians and physicists came up with some many fundamental concepts which are still the core of many a university lecture today.
+guy laurent true that, but there is a reason why there are not many (actually nowadays none) airlines belting around with polished aluminium fuselage and wings (beside the fact its a lot more composite material)
+Gerard Blacklock maybe the newer planes but the older ones it's more economical for them to have less paint on the planes

+guy laurent Yup – i do love the look of the old polished aircraft, but they are a world away from aircraft like the 777 or 787 or A380
+Gerard Blacklock it's too bad….
