Ninja shutter skills

To add to my repertoire of ninja skills, the primary one being the ability to sneak outta the house for sunrise without anyone waking (well mostly), the other one being the ability to catch falling toys, wraps and all other manner of items being ditched by a child being carried ;)… add to that the ability to press the shutter button faster than Chuck Norris.. and lightning πŸ™‚
Well, truth be told it was just luck, i do have this cool little light sensor/shutter trigger for my camera which apparently can help capture lighting, however I forgot it πŸ™ probably would have not helped anyway. I did not even notice this lightning bolt until I looked at the image later on.

Some may remember the recent storms where there were two people in Newtown / inner west struck by lightning, I figured the chance of me getting smashed by a bolt is pretty slim then, even given the fact that I am at the top of a hill carrying a umbrella πŸ™‚ I gotta say though, there were a few strikes which felt a bit too close for comfort. I also saw some interesting aircraft departures out of YSSY, it must have been a few short uncomfortable turns for a few paxs as they climbed out of the airport!
