"the program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing"
nice fix on your page btw (https://plus.google.com/105020366195257635597/posts/4KBGNEJTsWP)
better option to just download the missing files , you can get them in the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3

but i am more concerned with the behind the scenes auto update, even Java actually asks you first.. π

If you’ve had trouble getting the latest update of the Nik Collection by Google, we have some information that could help you out.

I didn't wait for the auto update. I just downloaded the package again and ran the installer. Everything works fine for me on a Win 8.1 machine.
I did see +Rick Sammon had some issues with images showing completely black.
Until this update was announced I didn't even realise it could update in the background.
yeah, google = NSA ? lol
btw +Adam Lee how do you find the update to win 8 ?
Win 8 itself or the 8.1 update?
Anyway, I like them both. It's very different to Win 7, so there's more of a learning curve compared to previous updates. I honestly think that's where most of the complaints come from. A lot of people want a change as long as it's not much of a change at all. Lol.
Hey +Gerard Blacklock, did this happen via Lightroom or Photoshop?
I only tried them all from PS. Didn't think to try via LR too.
hmm, i only noticed it in CS6, i am sure LR worked fine yesterday..
btw +Adam Lee i was referring to the 8.1 update, it apparently is quite good (i am yet to use it) – most people I have spoken to seem think win 8 is good, it just takes some getting used to..
It's good. There's now a little windows icon where the start button was in Win 7. It will take you to Metro.
Define 2, Sharpener Pro 3 (both output types), Viveza 2 don't work for me via Lightroom 5 π

PITA π
Figured it out… The 64 bit applications of the 3 I mentioned won't run as standalone programs. Eg. Double click on the file. All the others do and all of the 32 bit applications do too.
+Adam Lee
nice one , i did not have the issue since CS is my main adobe product…but this will be handy reference
Nik's "solution" is to redirect the Ediit In preset to the 32 bit application. That's BS! I want it working as it should!
+Adam Lee lol, nothing like crippling a 64 bit system to 32 bit…. they really did not test this one thru very well. Strike one google.
