The path to nowhere..
The scale is lost on FB, but you can see at the end of the valley off to the left is the airport, just to the right of that you can see the Mount Cook hotel sleepytime place. Where the nice aqua water is in the middle, is the glacier melt with the rock hills on each side which have been carved/pushed out by the glacier coming down the alley. On the far right you can see the second swing bridge to Hooker Lake, its closed, and up that alley is hooker lake.
The path in front just wanders off the cliff to most likely death, or the very least a painful ride down to the river 🙂 Its amazing to stand here at this particular time knowing that once the ice was all the way down here and one day it will probably be all eroded away, a ever changing landscape.
On that ridge on the hill on the left is Muellers Hut, I’m gonna hike up there and stay overnight one day 🙂
