Only to Know

Only to Know

Cherish someone today

don’t ler their

passing face fade

silently into yesterdays

shadows surely

the years lengthen

as over the lonely

fields remembering

nurture that sweet

tender bud until

it blooms in time

to yield a thousand fold

by the planting

ten thousand reaped

by its practicing

over the ripe

years remaining together

and the harvest

of two hearts

will be fulfilled

and overflowing in

the tenderness of knowing you
