I dunno who made this sculpture, but rest assured it would have taken them a long time 🙂 pretty spherical too, not bad for a bunch of bamboo bits and some tie-wire.
Its that time of the year again and the sculptures by the sea are back, however this year the sea has kinda protested and swallowed a few up. The 5 metre swell that was about was certainly a sight to see and hear.
Single image with a red torch and some crusty old blue EL wire.

+Paul Pavlinovich that's the one – pretty old flakey stuff too
Thanks +Carolyn Fahm , it is pretty iconic nowadays 🙂
+Loretta Jayne haha in my own head 🙂
+Gerard Blacklock I've got plenty of old flaky, I've never gotten the outcome this nice though, be proud of it.
+Paul Pavlinovich its all in the technique 🙂 basically this is two strands of blue EL (one is 5 m and the other 3m) folded up to basically make 2.5m length of nearly 4 cores, then attached to a improvised waving stick (stole my wifes tomato stake 🙂 ) you can then drag it around to create rivers, like this image. You need to experiment to get the right amount of continuous movement and enough holding it still to get the mist and detail.
That gives me due clarity, thanks. I've had it bundled up towards the end of the stick sounds like I should let it run more free and drag it around. I'll have to experiment with that.
this is amazing work +Gerard Blacklock
+Gerard Blacklock Wowsers!! That's some 'egg nest' Big G! Amazing photo!!
I need this in my backyard, or my room
+Paul Pavlinovich ahhh. yes you need to let it flow : ) allowing it to lay over a subject and giving it a little shake creates a nice effect too 🙂
Thanks +John Dusseault 🙂
