Thankyou to the impromptu model – its a shame I could not do her and the scene justice.
Definitely add these guys to your watch list, great source of info..

This is the relatively famous ball of water which is part of the Sculptures by the Sea 2013.
Lit with a single focus-able torch (look carefully to see where it was pointed) and coloured red torch for some foreground colour.
oh wait, that's not ET
This has got to be just about the right position for some nice startrails..
Well it is that time of year again, sculptures by the sea, a great time to view the scenery at Glamamara.
View large, you know its a crime not to!
As usual and its becoming a dirty habit, +Suren J and +Rodney Campbell and myself get together and smash some light all in the name of trying to create something different than the run of the mill sculpture shots.
Its a wild world out there in sculptures by the sea, there must be a million bucks in photography gear alone on each given day as enthusiasts flock to grab a shot.
anyway, the ball full of water was on my list of ones to do – given the security guard was not gonna let us anywhere near the actually ball (grr) meant that i was not gonna get to do my bum cheeks against the ball, or my GP-5 mask or any EL wire….party poopers..
anyway so the following had to suffice. a pair of 15 dollar lasers (less than 1mw – so don't get excited or ) and coloured torch was all that was needed.
+Rodney Campbell on the red colour and myself and +Suren J on the lasers, however i think suren was more interested in lighting up the nudie couple in the house across the bay.

The Sea Lion.
Chaos, my 4 year old spent a good 20 minutes talking to Casey, she discussed everything from the necklace she was wearing thru to the fact she was inviting Casey to her birthday party – note thats kinda true since for her 5 birthday she is staying overnight at +Taronga Zoo for 'Roar and Snore'
This is as close to a sea lion as I will ever get..and quite frankly ever wanna get 🙂
out of 15 odd shots this was the best, alot of luck just getting right light and being square to the very very thick bit of glass.
Great job btw the +Taronga Zoo

There are a number of advantages of having kids, yes contrary to popular belief there are some 🙂 one such advantage for me, is that get to go to the zoo on a disturbingly regular basis, normal i do not even bother with a camera, since most time is spent carrying someone, however this time I did.
Tassie devils are very cool and to see them in the open, even at a zoo is pretty rare, i have only seen one in the wild, near cradle mountain in tassie on the side of the road hissing at us as we drove by 🙂
This guy was sunbaking and as we entered (being the first for the day: ) ) and at the first sign of us went off and hid 🙂
Its also great to hear +San Diego Zoo has taken several onboard in the US, especially given then threaten nature of this species in tassie (facial tumors- cancer)
+Jay Patel, sorry for missing the hangout, i was at least doing something photography related 🙂

Welcome to the sculptures, 2013, we need more flexible security guards, they just don't understand art 😉

The view you can see here is that looking south on Botany bay, each image has the background as it appears in 'real life' , ie on the left, the entrance to Botany bay, the middle looking toward Kurnell (with a bit missing:) but hey, thats my artistic license) and on the right, Sans Souci. However the foreground is a different view on the same distinctive rock, each from a different side.
Clear as mud?
As always, view large, there is very little point looking at the thumbnail..where's the fun in that?

but i am more concerned with the behind the scenes auto update, even Java actually asks you first.. 😉

Caution – loose Rocks, yeah, when has that ever stopped anyone 🙂
This breakwall had style, it had individuality from the other 30 on the bay, all because of the odd little ( or not so little i guess) rock.
Welcome to Botany.

I reckon if you get swept in here, even in the mildest conditions I would rate your chance as slim or buckleys 🙂
Beautiful, but dangerous, not only the sea, but the geology too, the conglomerate rock is very loose and prone to break away underfoot.

As always, its a crime not to view large.
I love the days and the locations which enable me to capture a scene with both the bright warm sunrise/sunset and the incoming (or outgoing) darkness.
Our country needs more reserves and parks like this, these kind of views and country should be accessible to all, not just a select few with the ability to buy land and build on the edge.
