The SR-71A Flight Manual is a source of inspiration, over a 1000 pages of what I would refer to as more than useful stuff, unlike the Flight Manuals of today.

I also like to refer to this aircraft as the flying fuel tank, 80k lbs of fuel, basicall yeverything aft of the pilot in the fuselage is fuel…

NTFS-3G read write mode and dirty journal

There are still, after all these years, still only two ways to get around the issue of a unclean NTFS, ie goes into hiberation, power loss or however else it gets a dirty journal. Note this still permits the drive to be mounted as RO.

1) drop the drive out and put into a external enclosure and attached then de-attach to a windows machine. Removing from within windows (ie no reboot is adequate)

2) Boot system using a liveCD like knoppix and mounting the system, this sometimes seems to correct the drive.

Nonetheless, the benefits of being able to read and write to NTFS from non-window machines makes this all worth it.

Sculptures by the Sea 2011

Well another year and another lot of sculptures, its always interestign to see whats there and what lends it self well to interesting photography. Following on from last years effort of some interesting light painting, this thought was carried on with view to refine it a bit more.

To be honest probably did no better than last year and really was about prepared as a i was last year, ie not enough batteries and too late etc..

nonetheless, a few edits of the better images from the evening…
