Young pilots praised for ‘textbook’ crash landing at Victoria Point – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
Two young pilots who were at the controls of a light aircraft which was forced to make an emergency landing in Queensland have been praised for their calm actions.
Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House long exposure, like any landscape shot (and I use that loosely since this image could almost be a cityscape too) often getting the right dynamic range can be a challenge, even with newer, more sensitive sensors often you still need to employ additional techniques to achieve the desired dynamic range, especially when trying to replicate what your eyes saw on the day.
The bigstopper adds another level of complexity to it, these tend to add quite a bit of vignetting, (for my lens anyway) so one must also combat this issue also.

There are probably a few things that can make pregnancy miserable, but i reckon getting the flu is probably up there with some of the best, compounding the continuous toilet breaks, the back pain, the discomfort, the sore legs, the list goes on – and to top it all off, the only thing you can take is paracetamol 🙂 it is true that men will never understand the hardship that is pregnancy and i for thank goodness i never have too. At least I get to take some drugs for the flu 🙂
Kudos to my partner Sarah for doing a stellar job whilst pregnant and having one of the worse flus we have ever gotten. Oh and also for taking 5 minutes to have a picture taken 😉

There was some nice tonal changes as the twilight was really kicking in and the final dirty red of the smoky sunset was disappearing.
Sydney Skyline on a smoky sunday afternoon. The super low tide gives one great access to some slightly out of the ordinary shots of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera house. 180 seconds for the water, taken from Mrs Macquarie's Chair.

Myself and +Rodney Campbell caught up to try and see what the smoke haze over the city would look like at sunset, in doing so we made a visit to the nearby drink/refreshment bar which had a few postcards of the view nearby, so, in the spirit of a particular impossible postcard here is the following panorama.

I am finding that my Seascape sessions are no longer complete without some kind of x-tych. Often images that are not strong enough to hold themselves up really shine in concert with others.
